Pro make up from Camera Ready Cosmetics

Updated: Aug 8, 2018

I have been watching Angie Di Battista. She is a pro HMUA based in Canada who has an amazing profile. I stumbled upon her Youtube channel when I was looking for reviews for RCMA. She has found what cosmetics works for her and her clients that is why I like watching her. I watched her kits essentials video as I have yet to find a base make up that works for me. If you are a fellow aspiring MUA then I recommend you watch the rest of her videos because she is very practical and only mentions products that are very essential to what she does.

Kit Essentials (Foundation, powder and concealer) video below:

I decided to buy the RCMA VK11 and Cinema Secrets 300 series foundation palette she mentioned. I already have the RCMA Shinto palette and I really love that foundation. I find that is is cheaper if I buy from the US rather than here in the UAE. Souq sells it for twice the amount. So, no thank you! I registered in Camera Ready Cosmetics website and started adding items in my cart so I qualify for the international free shipping. (This is where Angie buys her cosmetics.)

What I bought:

Retails for USD 72

Sale Price: USD 69 / AED 261 / PHP 3,771

The VK 11 palette has 18 shades. Breakdown below:

A. Shinto - has yellow to greenish undertones.

  • SH-1 to SH-4 have ochre undertones

  • SH-5 to Sh-8 tan/yellow tones for men.

B. Olive - These tones are warmer than the SH and KO series. Less yellow, these are olive tones that rise in their deepness value from Gena Beige to Tantone.

  • Gena Beige

  • Tantone

  • Olive-1

  • Olive-2

  • Olive-3

  • Olive-4

C. Highlight and Contour

  • S-1

  • CS-2

D. Light skin

  • Porcelain

  • Ivory

Did you know that Beyonce's MUA - Sir John uses RCMA foundation on her? I saw this from one of Nikkietutorial's video. Will link it here as soon as I find it. You don't find this foundation in malls and would only often hear this foundation from Make Up Artist like Wayne Goss, Angi Di Battista, Kevin James Bennett, Kandee Johnson etc. I bought the 5 in palette which I did not like at first until I stumbled upon Angie Di Battista. She explained how you to use RCMA foundation properly. I decided to get the VK 11 because I know this is going to be a staple in my make up kit. This foundation is highly pigmented but very light on the skin.

Light to medium yellow-beige undertones. This provides a natural matte finish that is water resistant and long-wearing, suitable for even the most sensitive skin. We are residing in a very humid country so I thought I should try this foundation since it claims to be water resistant. I have tried this once but I had the MAC prep and prime underneath. I only used a pea sized amount and it covered my full face. It is very light on the skin and does not feel sticky. Same as RCMA. I need to test this some more.

100 series - deep red undertone

200 series - medium to deep golden olive undertones

300 series - light to medium yellow-beige undertones

400 series - medium peach beige undertones

500A series- light to medium pink beige undertones

500B series  -medium to deep pink-beige undertones

Angie made a foundation application demo. You may watch below:

This adjusts the consistency of the RCMA foundation. RCMA foundation are highly pigmented hence you only need a tiny amount to cover your entire face. This thinner will transform the consistency to a lighter, dewy finish. This will also restore dried up foundation palettes.

I have been contemplating on whether to de-pot my lipsticks or not. Watched a couple of videos and finally decided to take a plunge. This palette fits 24 full-sized lipsticks. They said it is also microwavable. I am very happy with this palette.

I already de-potted my lipsticks and stacked them in here.

WnW : Wet n wild

MB: Maybelline

USD 3.99 / AED 15 / PHP 217 each

I am not a huge fan of the packaging and the applicator. It gets messy and unhygienic but the pigmentation is amazing! It works and it is cheap!

USD 4.95 / AED 19 / PHP 275

I have not heard of Mehron make up until I saw them in camerareadycosmetics. For me, they are like Ben Nye. Their make up line has been used for broadway, runway, movie sets etc. They have a make up line for everyday beauty and for performances. I decided to get one jar of glitter to test it out. I have not played with it yet but is really cheap so if this works out, I will buy other colors.

USD 3.70 /AED 14 / PHP 202

This is the same with Mehron. They are founded in the US and have been used for theater stage, photo studio models, etc. This is great for MUA that is just starting like me. I have not used it yet. The magnet on this blush is really strong compared to the MAC blush powder I recently bought from MAC.

USD 1.99 / AED 8 / PHP 116

No deeper explanation required rather than this is a huge powder puff that is perfect for setting your make up.

USD 6 / AED 23 / PHP 328

I wanted to de-pot some of my powder products but I realized I should have bought the z-palette as I don't have anywhere to put my products in. I initially wanted to buy dupes for the z-palette like the wild peach cosmetics magnetic palette I own. Z-palette are quite expensive so I'd settle for dupes but haven't found any here the UAE that is cheaper in price. The empty magnetic palette dupe I found in Souq is almost the same price as the Z-palette. I'll probably buy a dupe from the

Philippines.

Sample items I want to try:

I was curious why Angie likes Face Atelier so I decided to get the sample size so I can try it on myself. I got 2 shades because I wasn't sure what will be my shade. This is a silicon based foundation which is perfect for those with Rosacea. On the website, it is advertised as the foundation for Kelly Clarkson and Lady Gaga. I have tried this twice and I feel like it made me oily faster than the RCMA foundation. But it can be good with mature skin because of the finish.

Here's the foundation application for acne prone skin using the Face Atelier from Angie:

USD 2.99 / AED 11 / PHP 163

Wayne Goss made a short review of this which made me curious to try. Click here for the small product review.

My total? Whopping USD 168.59 / AED 637 / PHP 9,205!

PLUS TAX: AED 20 which I paid to the courier when my order arrived. I did have free shipping because my order reached USD 150.

Yes, I spent a lot of money but I earned that money from working my butt off. This is something I see myself doing in the near future so I am building my make up kit. I want my kit to be filled with pro-make up so I am starting to collect on professional make up kit.

So wish me well as I take this career seriously.

XOXO
